There’s no doubt that London offers a variety of activities to keep even the pickiest of visitors entertained. However, if you happen to find yourself in town just for a day, then it can be difficult to decide exactly what to do, see, explore and eat!
Luckily for you, we’ve polled our Hawkins International team members and they were happy to share some of their top recommendations to make the most of 24 hours spent in London!
At the center of this 24-hour itinerary is the newly-renovated property, The Franklin. Created by one of the world’s most famed designers, Anouska Hempel, this charming hotel is tucked away in a charming row of Victorian Townhouses in the heart of London’s ultra-posh Knightsbridge neighborhood.
The Franklin (which also happens to be one of the newest additions to our client portfolio), overlooks the Egerton Gardens and is conveniently located near many museums and hot spots making it the ideal home base for your London adventures!
9:00 AM: Wake up and head to The Franklin’s restaurant to enjoy a delicious a la carte breakfast. Their delightful options will fuel any travel up and prepare you for a full day of exploring the city!
10:30 AM: Following breakfast, return to your room, put on your walking shoes, and make the quick five minute stroll over to the Victoria and Albert Museum where you can view their robust collections including British and European masterpieces. Did we mention admission is free?
1:00 PM: Now that lunch time has rolled around, it’s the perfect time to make your way to Borough Market where you can sample a variety of flavors from all over the world. Our team suggested that no lunch outing would be complete without trying the chocolate chip cookies and macarons at Comptoir Gourmand bakery!
3:00 PM: Following your dining adventure, we recommend stopping by the London Eye for a quintessential photo opp! While you may think that this destination caters to the tourist crowd, it’s more than worth making the slow ride up to the top to take in the Central London view.
5:00 PM: There is no better time to roam the streets of London than in the evenings! We suggest walking over to our neighbors at Harrods to find that perfect souvenir, or making a twenty minute trip over to Oxford Street for even more world class shopping the city has to offer. Be sure to check out Selfridges’ window displays while you’re up there!
7:00 PM: While New York has Broadway, London has the West End. Whether you’re a musical lover or prefer something slightly more serious, there are an abundance of options for every taste. According to our colleagues, you can’t go wrong with The Lion King, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, or In the Heights.
9:00 PM: Head back to The Franklin and indulge in a glass of champagne or martini before returning to your suite for the night. If you arrive at the property slightly earlier, you can enjoy their nightly champagne sabering ritual at 7pm!
