What’s one thing that remains a constant amidst everything going on in the world right now? The love of family. Whether you’re hunkered down together in the same home or hold a weekly FaceTime call from 500 miles away, it’s these connections that provide stability and joy. While this Mother’s Day will be an adjustment – with stay at home mandates still in place for many across the country and globe – the hospitality industry is getting creative this year when it comes to gift giving! The Hawkins International team has rounded up a few ways that you can shower your mom with appreciation this Mother’s Day.
Sunday Brunch at Home
The call out to shop local and support businesses has never been stronger, and Mother’s Day is the perfect time to turn to your local community. Sorriso Modern Italian Kitchen in The Woodlands, Texas is offering delicious Italian fare through both in-restaurant dining and curbside to-go and delivery. While they’re only open on Saturday, you can pick up a spread the night before for a Sunday brunch that’s already in the fridge come morning! If you’re looking to treat your mom on the west coast, Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Bel Air and The Beverly Hills Hotel are also offering to-go options. Polo Lounge’s Mother’s Day To-Go Brunch comes with a Mimosa Kit, Avocado Toast, Ricotta Pancake Kit and more! Another California hotel, Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, is offering a to-go Mother’s Day dinner with roasted chicken, prime rib and more.
Give the Gift of Future Travel
While your trip with your mom may need to wait, you can get a head start on the planning process with a gift card! The Buy Now, Stay Later program is a great way to support hotels through a travel bond that matures in value. Your $100 investment will be worth $150 after 60 days, and there are a wide array of hotels on the list. Montage International has also developed a gift certificate program ‘Montage Cares,’ which supports their Hearts of Montage Associate Relief Fund. Each $500 certificate can be redeemed for a one-night stay at a Montage Hotels & Resorts property in the future.
Connect Virtually
We’ve all seen the increase in virtual content – our feeds are flooded with IGTV content and Facebook Lives! Whether you’re following the cooking adventures of Alison Roman or DIY tips from Real Simple, creators are focusing on content that’s tailored to life at home. The SoNo Collection recently partnered with local motherhood blogger Megan Schinella to develop a Mother’s Day craft that’s perfect for dad’s to create with kids – while mom enjoys a nap or glass of wine! The full IGTV can be found here, and there’s still plenty of time to create the gift before Sunday.
