Dream Downtown and Omni Hotels & Resorts on USA Today Online
With a month left ‘til the election, make our next one a quadruple, please! As a result of our relentless campaigning – oops! – ongoing media outreach, two clients were highlighted in a recent roundup of “2016 Election-Themed Food and Drink Specials” on USA Today online. The near-endless slideshow-style article featured the Polling for Cocktails menu of Omni Hotels & Resorts, “with options from a Trump-tini to the True Blue Mule.” The very next slide had a pretty photo and nice description of two cocktails served only at the lobby bar at Dream Downtown in New York: The Grand Old Fashion (Bulleit Bourbon, bitters, simple syrup and muddled blackberries) and the Air Force One (Bombay Sapphire, Benedictine, Crème de Violette and lemon juice). USA Today online gets our vote for one of the biggest hits around, with a VPM of 22,546,747.
Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa in and on The Desert Sun
Why go with tried-and-true travel when you score a getaway that is Exactly Like Nothing Else? That must’ve been the thinking behind the Kathy Strong’s recent inclusion of Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa in “‘Mine’ Autumn In These Top Spots” in print and online in The Desert Sun. The round-up style article, which ran in print and online on September 25, featured an 11-paragraph write-up of the historic Southern California lakeside address and its curiously named travel package, which we had pitched over the last couple of months. Nice photo of the resort’s private beach, too. The Desert Sun covers anything and everything in the Coachella Valley of California, with a print circulation of 38,518 and a VPM of 331,171.
InterContinental New York Barclay’s Gin Parlour on TimeOut Online
Here’s one way to make a splash in a drinking town. As a result of our outreach to writer Abby Carney on the new Oyster and Gin promotion from The Gin Parlour at InterContinental New York Barclay, the bar was featured in detail on TimeOut online. The review-style article, led by a gorgeous photograph of the William Bradford Gimlet, coaxed readers with myriad details, notably The Gin Parlour’s collection of 88 gins, various cocktails including the Quintessential G&T and the Brooklyn Bramble, bar snacks such as the broiled oysters Reuben, and more. TimeOut online gets a lot of eyes and 3.1 million readers each month; inclusion in the bar review section promises huge visibility. If all that weren’t enough, the review was also tweeted on TimeOut New York’s Twitter page @thefeednyc, which has 38,800 followers of its own.
