In the wake of the incredible devastation in Northern California caused by recent wildfires, Hawkins International compiled a list of ways people can assist those affected by this tragedy. As of this week, over 8,000 buildings have been destroyed, leaving many people without any possessions or shelter, having lost everything they own. While monetary donations go a long way, gently used goods, personal hygiene items, and clothing are also extremely helpful. Here are a few ways you can provide some much needed relief.
Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch
The Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch is currently seeking donations to help countless animals displaced by the wildfires. Donations can be made through its Emergency Fund.
Napa Valley Community Foundation
The Napa Valley Community Foundation has mobilized its Disaster Relief Fund, where tax-deductible contributions of any amount are welcome. The fund is making pre-qualified grants to nonprofits providing immediate relief and recovery services to those affected, which includes food, shelter, childcare, transportation, physical and mental health, and more.
Redwood Credit Union
Redwood Credit Union is now accepting financial donations to assist fire victims and aid relief efforts. 100% of the tax-deductible donations will go directly to support fire victims who have lost homes, first responders who also lost their homes while fighting the fires, and children and schools impacted by the fires. Donations can be made with an option to support any of the four counties affected: Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, or Lake.
The people of Northern California need our support, so anything you can give will be instrumental to recovery efforts. And remember — every bit helps!
