We always love to see our clients get involved in worthy causes, and recently the Residence Inn World Trade Center has been doing their part to give back to both local and national organizations.
To help support back to school season, the hotel began August by participating in United Way of New York’s “Build a Backpack Grow a Reader” program. This program was designed to provide essential school supplies to students so that they can focus on learning rather than worry about any lack of materials. The hotel began collecting backpacks to donate to this program and, with the help of some donations from Hawkins team, managed to collect 15 backpacks to donate to school children.
In addition to these efforts on a local level, every quarter Sage Hospitality group initiates a guest donation program with money raised going to a different organization every year. This year the chosen organization is St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and the Residence Inn World Trade Center has come up with a number of creative ways to raise money for this worthy cause.
With every donation made to the fundraiser, guests will receive a classic New York black and white cookie! In addition, guests can make a $5 donation and test out their golf swing at the mini golf hole that the hotel has set up in their lobby. If they hit a hole in one then they will receive some Residence Inn World Trade Center “swag”! The fundraiser ends on September 30th, so if you are in the New York City area before then, be sure to stop by the hotel and make a donation to this worthy cause.
