Clubhouse is the newest app to the social scene creating quite the buzz among industry leaders, professionals, and even a few celebrities. This audio-based, invite-only (for now) social product allows people to come together and ‘gives them the stage’, allowing for lively discussions on a variety of engaging topics. Seriously, anything from Nutrition 101 to The Stock Market.
The app serves as a dynamic space to speak to topics you’re an expert on, but also learn about others that interest you – from the best in the business.
So now that we’ve convinced you to download the app, what’s next? Here’s the basics. The app is currently only available on iOS. As mentioned above, the app is also invite-only, so once you make an account you’ll need to be invited in. If you need an invite – we have you covered! Send a quick email to our Digital Team (digitalteam@hawkpr.com) with your Clubhouse username and phone number and we’ll “bump” you on the waitlist. From here, it’s time to explore!
No matter your industry, the Hawkins Digital Team has a few best practices to follow to get the most of Clubhouse.
Network, Network, Network!
Clubhouse is not a place to self-promote. While you may be talking about your experience, at its core, Clubhouse was developed to give users a platform to share stories and connect with others. Use the app with the intention to hear and learn from others, not gain a following or boost your personal brand – or oversell a product.
Keep It Collaborative
The best conversations are those that build off each other and involve multiple speakers, experiences, and perspectives. Encourage other speakers in a room to share, ask questions, and keep the conversations collaborative, not competitive.
Explore New Topics
In this platform you don’t have to stick to what you know! While it’s great to join rooms where you’re an expert and can provide insight, remember to join rooms in which you’re not. Clubhouse allows users to join and simply listen in on any room. So, learn about a new topic and gain insight. You have industry professionals in a multitude of areas at your fingertips – use that to your benefit!
Become A Member
Within the app you can also become a member of different groups. This ensures you get notified when they start a room and can help you more easily connect with others in your field. Some of our favorite groups are Hospitality Professionals, Hospitality & More, The PR Society, and Digital Marketing Society.
Don’t Forget About Your Bio
Bios are super important on Clubhouse, as they provide a quick snapshot of who you are and what you do. Your bio can be a mix of your professional and personal life, sharing tidbits on your work and what you like to do in your off time. There’s also a section to directly link your Twitter and Instagram accounts. If you have a strong presence on either platform, we suggest you link those as well!
See you on Clubhouse!
